National Wine Day is May 25! National Wine Day is an unofficial holiday that celebrates the history and evolution of wine. To learn more about National Wine Day and how you can celebrate at Tullulah’s, just keep reading this blog post.

National Wine Day is an annual, unofficial holiday celebrated every year in the United States on May 25. On May 25, people appreciate wine and its ancient history, which dates back more than 8,000 years. While the exact time of wine’s invention is unknown, the first winery found is believed to date back to 4300 BC. Archaeologists found this winery in the Areni Cave in Vayouts Dzor, Armenia. The winery featured cups, jars, wine presses, and fermentation vats. After finding this site, archaeologists believe that the process of making wine may have started even earlier than the creation of this winery. Their estimate is 8,000 years ago.

Did you know that the fragrance of an older wine is called a bouquet, while younger wine scents are called aromas? Also, the states of New York, Florida, and California lead the United States in wine consumption. Overseas, wine has been produced in southwestern France since Roman times.

In ancient times, Romans made wine with lead to help preserve it and give it a sweeter taste. Now, wine is made with much healthier ingredients.
